Bird feeder

Recently we put a bird feeder on our window and put meal worms in it, but no birds came. So we left the lid open so that the rain would soak the mealworms, and then the birds started coming! We have seen some blue tits, robins and wagtails. Miss Mitchell said we spend more time looking out the window than doing our work! We also saw a blackbird building its nest on top of the Class 1 pole... we think it might have been blown off because it’s not there anymore. PICTURES

Our guest

In our literacy topic we are learning to write letters and this week we had a guest and surprisingly it was Mrs Worrall; our school secretary! She told us what it is like to send letters all the time and about formal and informal letters. We asked her some questions like what if you don’t know the persons name and lots of other questions. Did you know if she did not know their name she would write madam or sir. and she buys 100 stamps a month! PICTURES

Capoeira

Craig came in again to demonstrate Capoeira and class 3 joined in and showed the school our  moves. We’re exited for the club to start next half term!

Welcome to class 3’s blog where we put information on that we think you might want to find out!

This term’s reporters are Hana, Ross, Catherine and Faye.

RE Visit

A man called Dave came in to class 3 this week. He came into class 3 for R.E because we are learning about the bible. We wanted to ask him some questions like how was God invented and some questions about him like what is your favourite fruit. First he told to us the whole bible but quickly and shortly in only 3 minutes! He works at the Tube station church at Polzeath. Class 3 found out lots of facts about the bible!

Greek Artefacts

Class 3 had a box of ancient Greek artefacts from the museum, because  we are learning about ancient Greece. In the box was.................

Lekythos (a pot to put olive oil in.) crater shard (pottery, it is a part of a bowl),

wrestlers (a mini statue of an ancient greek wrestler)! We had lots of fun looking at and holding artifacts that are over 2000 years old!

Face Britain

We have been doing self  portraits this week as part of the Face Britain Campaign to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee. We have learnt how to draw our faces properly then we covered them in tissue paper .We really enjoyed our work.
